Admission procedure – Master study

akademic year    2020/2021


The Dean of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering of STU in Bratislava in accordance with the Act No.131/2002 on Higher Education Institutions announces the admission procedure for master studies.

According to the Higher Education Act, the basic condition for admission to engineering studies at the university is the completion of the first degree study program (bachelor study).

In the academic year 2020/2021 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava opens only the daily form of master study.  

  • Application deadline : till 21. august 2020
  • Inserting/Sending all mandatory annexes:  immediately after generating and submittig E application
  • Date of the admission comittee meeting: 27. 8. 2020

E application guide: 

Application in electronic form without guaranteed electronic signature using the academic information system STU (AIS) (http://is.stuba.sk/prihlaska/?lang=sk). The application must be submitted electronically within the presribed period and must contain all the required information and annexes.

The offer of study programmes you can apply for:

Applicant for master study can submit one application for a maximum of three study programmes.

If the applicant wishes to indicate an alternative study program when choosing a study program, at the bottom of the page (e-application) with information about the comleteness of the application in section Pending applications by clicking the thick arrow Application details can in the item Alternative type of admission procedure A, B  choose two more study programs. In case of exceeding the capacity limit of the selected main study program the candidate may be offered study in an alternative study program of type A or B.

Application must contain

  • CV (signed – scan as an attachment), do not send in paper form!
  • notarized copy of bachelor diploma (applicants from other faculties and other universities – also send in paper form)
  • notarized copy of state examination certificate (applicants from other faculties and other universities – also send in paper form)
  • list of completed courses with credit evaluation (applicants from other faculties and other universities – also send in paper form)
  • notarized copy of the Diploma Supplement (applicants from other faculties and other universities – also send in paper form)
  • foreign applicants and applicants who have studied abroad are obliged to provide a notarized copy of the documentRecognition of the equivalence of evidence of a bachelor´s degree:

Any applicant for study at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava who has completed previous studies abroad must submit a recognized certificate of education issued by o foreign university.

  • Information of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic  - on the recognition of education documets
  • Recognition of the document of higher education – for the purpose of continuation of study

 

  • scan copy of payment for admission fee attached in E application in case of a payment other than a payment gate (internet banking, bank transfer)

Applicants who finish their bachelor´s degree in academic year 2019/2020 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of STU in Bratislava will only insert a scan of the signed CV into the E-application. Other mandatory annexes will be inserted into the application form by a representative of the Department of Pedagogical Activities after the state examinations.

  • Important – Applicants from other universities outside STU – Keep your login details in your E-APPLICATION – you will need them by enrolling for study

It is not necessary to attach a medical certificate to the application.
Incomplete applications will be excluded from the admission procedure

All mandatory annexes must be submitted immediately after the e-application has been generated and filed.

The fee for material provision of the admission procedure

The fee for material provision of the admission procedure is determined by the Rector´s directive 3/2019 čl.6 -SR Tuition fees and study fees at STU in Bratislava for the academic year 2020/2021 as follows:

°          20 €    study in state language
°          80 €    study in english language

You can make the payment for the e-application:

  1. online payment (directly inf E application, debit card payment)
  2. internet banking,
  3. bank transfer

If the applicant pays the payment in other way than above, he is obliged to provide a copy of the payment.

Tution fees

Study in standard length is free of charge. Fees for exceeding standard length of studies and concurrent studies are published at http://www.stuba.sk/sk/studentov/skolne-a-poplatky-spojene-so-studiom.html?page_id=4565.

Tution fee for study in english language is 4000 EUR per year.

Scholarship

Student may be awarded a one-time incentive scholarship in selected fields of study, a motivational scholarship for outstanding performance of study obligations, or a motivational scholarship for extraordinary results. More information on the web: http://www.stuba.sk/4566.

Admission procedure

  • Applicants for master study will be accepted without admission examination. Based on the assessment of the content of the completed bachelor's study, the applicant will be admitted directly to the study of the selected follow-up engineering study program without or with additional subjects. If the completed bachelor study does not meet the conditions of continuity, the applicant will be recommended to complete the bachelor study at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of STU first.
  • Applicants specify no more than three study programs in the application.
  • If a study programm will not be opened due to lack of interest, the applicant´s application will be moved to the study programme he/she has specified as the second option.
  • If the number of applicants qualifying for admission to any study program exceeds the number of applicants that the faculty intends to enroll for the study program, the admission criteria is the study average achieved at the bachelor degree of study. Applicants in the order exceeding the number of applicants that the faculty intends to enroll for the relevant study program of the faculty will be transferred to the study program they listed as the second option.

The admission decision with justification will be delivered to the applicant in written form to the contact address which was listed in the application.
